Sign In With Apple (Hidden Email Address)

This doc will explain what happens when you use the Sign in with Apple button and choose to hide your email.

What happens when you hide your email when signing in with Apple?

If you created an account with the Apple Sign-button, Apple gives you the option to hide your email address (Hide My Email). This option generates a unique and random Apple email address for your subscription. The hidden email address option hides your personal email in our system.

This can cause some confusion if you unintentionally use this feature. If you generate a hidden email address, you will need to either use the Sign in with Apple button or the generated hidden email address. This hidden email address takes the place of your personal email address in our system. So, if you try to use your personal email to log in, you will instead be directed to create a new account.

You can learn more about hidden email addresses and how to manage them through Apple in their official document.

How can you check to see if you are using a hidden email?

If your subscription is through Apple and you are having trouble accessing your subscription, it is possible that you have used this option.

Step 1: Go to your phone Settings and tap on your name

Step 2: Tap on Sign-In & Security

Step 3: Tap Sign in with Apple

Step 4: Tap on Skritter

Step 5: Check under HIDE MY EMAIL to see if there is a unique and random Apple email address

If you have followed these steps and are still unable to access your subscription, contact us at team@skritter.com. You can send us a copy of your Apple receipt or tell us the Order/Transaction ID shown on it so we can try to look up which account your subscription is linked to.
